The Fairfax campus is located on nearly 700 acres in historic Fairfax County, Virginia and is a mere 15 miles—an easy commute by car or Metro rail—to Washington, D.C., the nation’s capital.
Northern Virginia’s technology corridor is a close neighbor, giving students access to a myriad of internship and employment possibilities.

The Fairfax campus is the only Mason campus that includes student housing. Nearly 5,000 students reside in campus housing, and rooms for an additional 600 students will soon be completed. Options available include apartments, townhouse, suite, and traditional corridor style living. In addition, the university provides services for students seeking off-campus living arrangements.

Transportation between the Fairfax campus and the Prince William campus and to and from nearby communities is available via Mason shuttle, as well as public transportation.

Cultural Centers at Mason
Between Washington, D.C.'s nightlife and the many cultural events on campus, finding something fun to do is always easy.
The Center for the Arts complex includes the 2,000-seat Concert Hall, two experimental theaters, three dance studios, and music and fine arts studios. Take advantage of free student tickets.
The Patriot Center is a 10,000-seat sports and entertainment arena designed for basketball, concerts, and other sports and entertainment events. The center's arena hosts over 120 events annually.
State-of-the-Art Recreational Facilities
Whether you practice yoga or swim laps to keep in shape, there's a place for the athlete in every student. The Fairfax campus features both the Aquatic and Fitness Center and the Recreation Sports Complex.
