Whether you're a professional artist or a hobbyist, this is your chance to showcase your talents! Join our BioArt Contest. Open to all levels. Call to Entry Form

Whether you're a professional artist or a hobbyist, this is your chance to showcase your talents! Open to all levels of Students, Faculty and Staff*! 

*Faculty and Staff can participate and feature during the event, but cannot win the contest.

Contest Details:

  • Theme: Art of Herpetology, Reptiles & Amphibians
  • Accepted Mediums:
    • DIMENSIONAL ART (sculpture, pottery, stained glass, fiber art, etc.)
    • DRAWING/PASTEL
    • WATERCOLOR
    • ACRYLIC
    • OIL
    • MIXED MEDIA
    • PHOTOGRAPHY

How to Enter:

  1. Submit your call to entry here:BioArt Call to Entry
  2. Create an original piece of artwork featuring our Herpetology theme.
  3. Submit your physical artwork with a title, name and major/department and a brief description of (100 words max) by the deadline of December 2nd, 2025 to EXPL 1200

🗓 Important Dates:

  • Call to Entry Form Due: October 10th (Late admissions may be accepted until October 24th)
  • Submission Deadline: December 2nd, 2025 to EXPL 1200
  • Winners Announcement: at the event 

Prizes:

  • 1st Place: Stanley Cup in Mason Color + Featured in Biology Office Suite
  • Participants all receive a Biology goodie bag.

Rules:

  • Only original artwork will be accepted. All works must be created by you, the artist.
  • One entry per person.
  • You must submit a Call to Entry Form listing the type of artwork that you intend to enterby October 10th.
  • No offensive or inappropriate content.
  • No AI generated work.
  • Entries must be dry (no wet paintings!)
  • All hanging entries must be matted (loose paper, photos, and collages must be matted), or gallery-wrapped canvas.
  • Canvas MUST include screw eyes and wire to hang. No adhesive or saw tooth hangers on canvas.
  • If artwork is large (anything with a dimension over 30 inches, or large 3D pieces over 12 inches must be stated on the entry form.
