The Baltimore County Police Department is looking for student interns for the Forensic Services Section.To be eligible to apply for the Forensic Science Internship, you must either be currently majoring or minoring in a Forensic Science Program OR need this internship as a requirement for academic credit.This internship program will provide students with a real-world learning opportunity, which should prepare them to be workforce ready upon graduation.The main purpose of this internship is to provide students with experiences that will allow them to utilize topics and concepts they have learned while pursuing their degree.  This will also allow them to learn additional skills which, they can apply to future employment.Finally, this internship will allow them to be exposed to career opportunities within the Baltimore County Police Department.Internship AssignmentThe selected intern will be assigned to any Police Department Forensic Science Services Section.You must need this internship as a requirement for academic credit.  The selected interns will: Prepare CDs for States Attorneys' OfficeLog information in and out of databasesResearch current analytical methodsContribute to on-going projectsInventory reference collectionsBuild skills related to the forensic science work environmentEligibility Requirements:Undergraduate students in their sophomore, junior, or senior year, and graduate students actively attending an accredited college or university are eligibleStudents must have at least a 2.8 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at the undergraduate level, or at least a 3.0 GPA at the graduate levelA college transcript is required as evidence of GPA.
