The DNA Learning Center (DNALC) of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory has immediate full-time educator positions available at DNA Learning Center NYC (DNALC NYC) in Downtown Brooklyn. The selected candidate will join a small, influential group recognized worldwide as a leader in creating and disseminating new methods in genetics education, including the fields of genomics, bioinformatics, and data science. Over 700,000 students have conducted experiments with DNALC staff—join our team as we aim to reach a million and more!Position ResponsibilitiesProvide hands-on genetics and molecular biology instructiton to precollege students visiting the DNALC for academic year field trips, summer camps, and extended research projects.Deliver in-school instruction.Assist with laboratory testing and prep.Conduct teacher training.Present public tours.Conducting teacher training and developing teaching modules.Position RequirementsMinimum job requirements:Education: Bachelor’s degree with significant coursework in science (biology or molecular genetics preferred).Experience:Strong science background required with an interest and/or experience in teaching.Other:NYS teaching certification preferred, but not required.Recent PhD graduates who would like to pursue teaching careers are also encouraged to apply-especially those with experience in personal genomics, DNA barcoding, metabarcoding, or bioinformatics.Knowledge/skills required to perform the job:Strong content knowledge.Excellent verbal and written communications skills.Strong organizational skills.Ability to work closely with others.Must be motivated and a self-starter.Availability to travel (domestic and international).Interested candidates should apply for this position with cover leter and resume via the CSHL website at: https://www.schooljobs.com/careers/cshl/jobs/5369602/educator-dnalc-nyc
