The Laboratory Technician will work under the direction of a technical staff member in Texas Process Innovation within the Texas Technology Department.Technicians should be capable of working in a fast paced research environment, collaborate effectively on teams, possess data processing skills, and strong communication skills.ResponsibilitiesConducting technical experiments and projectsFollowing written experimental proceduresLeading and participating on multi-disciplinary teamsDeveloping hands-on and in-depth technical expertiseWorking in a fast paced, results-oriented team environment to assist in developing new technologies to provide solutions to customers' needsPreparing and supporting experimental materials and techniquesConducting scale-up evaluationsPerforming analytical measurementsDocumenting experimental work and writing technical and invention reportsWorking safely and promoting a safe work environmentQualificationsMinimum of 4-year Degree in Scientific Field with laboratory courses. Must have General Chemistry and lab.  Prefer Organic Chemistry and lab also.Strong computing skills with basic competencies in Microsoft Suite of applictions (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to work independently in a laboratory settingProblem solving, math and science skills and familiarity with statistical methodology.Clear and effective written and oral communication is essential.
