Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory located on Long Island, New York, is presently seeking a Research Associate for an immediate position in preclinical imaging.The laboratory’s Molecular Imaging shared resource is a collaborative facility within the Cancer Center that uses a variety of both established and experimental non-invasive imaging techniques to evaluate new cancer treatments and diagnostics, and to translate those findings to the clinic.  Non-invasive imaging is a key component of this position. Position ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and running the PET/CT and SPECT/CT scanners stationed within the Molecular Imaging core and conducting collaborative research projects with other investigators at CSHL.  Proficiency in receiving and handling radioactive materials is a must.  They will also have responsibility for maintaining and providing assisted use with a new EBRT (external beam radiotherapy) instrument, recently added to the core.   Position RequirementsExperienceMinimum of 2–3 years of post-graduate experience Background in Medical Physics (preferred) Substantial experience in radionuclide imaging Experience operating preclinical PET/CT and SPECT/CT scanners Experience working with radiolabeled probes Experience with preclinical image-guided external beam radiotherapy (preferred) SkillsProficiency with analytical computer programs Strong attention to detail and meticulous record-keeping Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to work effectively and productively in a team-oriented environment Education: Master’s degree in Medical Physics or a related fieldOther: Work location will primarily be at CSHL Woodbury Genome Research Center. How to Apply:If you are a detail-oriented and collaborative professional with a strong background in medical imaging and a passion for advancing preclinical research, we encourage you to apply.; we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
