About
I am a Computational Scientist with a Ph.D. in Astrophysics, and my interests go way beyond my areas of expertise. In 2019 I participated as an analog-astronaut for NASA-HERA program, campaign 5, mission 2 (C5M2), being in isolation for 45 days simulating a trip to Phobos at Johnson Space Center. In 2020 I was selected to join PoSSUM Scientist Astronaut Qualification Program (class 2001), where I will be involved in climate research and learn how to perform suborbital noctilucent cloud science missions. When at a desk I like to work at the interface between high performance computing and real data, being an expert on demanding computational techniques, and having vast experience with observations from world-class ground-based and space telescopes. Currently I am a Research Scientist in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at George Mason University, and I am based at the U. S. Naval Observatory in Washington, DC.
