BA, Biological Sciences, Chemistry Minor, University of Delaware (1983)
Dr. Tondi received her Ph.D. in Physiology from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in 1993. Her research focused on the response of the cardiovascular system to exercise training. She initially worked as a consultant for Clement International Corporation, which was later renamed to ICF Consulting. Her work included analysis of the health effects of various types and durations of exposure to potentially toxic chemicals for agencies such as the EPA and the FDA. Dr. Tondi has taught Anatomy & Physiology courses at George Mason as an Adjunct Professor from 1992-2009, as an Assistant Professor from 2010-2015, and as an Associate Professor since 2016. She currently serves as the coordinator for all A&P courses within the Biology Department, and instructs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Tondi also serves as an undergraduate advisor to freshman biology majors, and has served on multiple graduate committees.
Dr. Tondi teaches a variety of A&P courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level. At the undergraduate level courses include BIOL 430/431 - Advanced Anatomy & Physiology I and II; BIOL 435 – Clinical Applications in Human Physiology; BIOL 489 – Teaching Practicum (biology electives designed for students preparing for health-related graduate programs). Graduate level courses include BIOL 508/BMED 604 – Human Anatomy & Physiology which are part of the EMDP2 (Enlisted to Medical Degree Preparatory Program) curriculum.
