- Assistant Director of Scientific Operations
PhD Infectious Diseases, George Mason University
The focus of my research is on understanding host-pathogen interactions for both viruses and bacteria. My doctoral work focused on identifying changes in host protein networks caused by Yersinia pestis infections. More specifically, on the modulation of the autophagy pathway by Y. pestis during infection and the mechanisms involved. The second focus of my research is on animal model development against infectious agents for testing novel therapeutic and vaccine strategies. As Assistant Director of Scientific Operations at CIDR, I also lead a team that oversees the centers core capabilities in Flow Cytometry, aerosol biology, in-vivo imaging and confocal microscopy.
