About
Director of Center for Quantum Science
Current Research
I am a theoretical physicist with research interests that overlap Condensed Matter and Nonlinear dynamics. Some of the topics of current interest include quantum phase transitions, topological aspect of quasiperiodic and periodically driven lattices, solitary waves in Bose-Einstein condensate
Teaching Focus
Quantum physics, graduate and gen-Ed

Butterfly in the Quantum World
"Butterfly in the Quantum World" by Indu Satija, with contributions by Douglas Hofstadter, is the first book ever to tell the story of the "Hofstadter butterfly", a beautiful and fascinating graph lying at the heart of the quantum theory of matter.
