About
Shortly after graduating from high school, I became employed at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) as a summer student. During that time, I was a part of the team that started the CHIANTI atomic database for astrophysical spectroscopy (https:chiantidatabase.org). Its success is attested to by its citation rate, lately, 150 per year. I retired from NRL and came to GMU in 2004. During this time I primarily studied spectral observations of the solar atmosphere and coronal mass ejections (CMEs).

Spectroscopic studies and Sun and development and maintenance of the CHIANTI atomic database for astrophysical spectroscopy (https://chiantidatabase.org).
