ASSIP applications open for 2022 session

Applications for the 2022 Aspiring Scientists Summer Internship Program (ASSIP) program are now open. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on February 6, 2022. The nationally known program provides transformative research opportunities for high school and undergraduate students. Selected participants work one-on-one with faculty researchers at George Mason University and collaborating institutions using state-of-the-art technology across many disciplines.

For the summer of 2022, some ASSIP internships will be offered in a fully remote format. Other 2022 ASSIP internships will be in-person or hybrid  (some days remote and some days in-person) as is possible to be in compliance with Mason COVID-19 policy.  We are not likely to know whether in-person/hybrid internships are possible until late April. Mason faculty and staff are required to be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 (medical/religious exemptions are allowed) and to wear well-fitting masks indoors (as of January 2022).
