CDS department Holiday Well-being Project fights winter break blues on campus

Alessa

Since COVID-19 quarantine adds a devastating blow to an already isolated student population on campus, the CDS department wanted to do something to help our students.  We coordinated a holiday well-being project over the winter break to acknowledge and support those CDS students that did not go home for the holidays. The packages of basic care items which included snacks, puzzles, books, and items to keep warm. Mason had several outreach efforts ongoing for students during the holidays, but the department wanted to give its support to its students to let them know of our continued support of their mental health well-being during the Covid-19 pandemic. CDS major and STAR, Olessa Ogork, was one of the first to receive her package pictured below. “Receiving the care package from the CDS department was a pleasant surprise, and a great way to start off the holiday break!” shares Alessa.
