Congratulations to Dr. Younsung Kim, who received the “Best Journal Article Award for 2015” from the Public and Nonprofit Division of the Academy of Management in honor of significant academic work and high-quality intellectual contributions to the field. The Public and Nonprofit Division of the Academy of Management focuses on research into the public and nonprofit organizations, and the relationships among public, nonprofit, and private sector organizations to shape a large share of modern management thought. The annual Academy of Management conference draws more than 10,000 students, academics, scholars, and professionals in the scholarly management and organization space.

The award recognized Dr. Kim’s recent article entitled “Business as a Collaborative Partner: Understanding Firms’ Sociopolitical Support for Policy Formation” in Public Administration Review, which is one of the preeminent journals in the field of public administration research, theory, and practice. In this paper, she and her co-author discuss the merits of collaborative governance, especially for addressing complicated modern policy challenges, and uses climate change as a policy application.
