Earthquake Relief from Geology Club

The George Mason University Geology Club has generously created a donation box for survivors of the devastating Turkey-Syria earthquake last week (see attached flyer). A member of the club will take items directly to the Turkish Embassy.

The club reports that it “has organized a non-monetary donation box for the survivors of the Kahramanmaras earthquake that devastated populations in Turkey and Syria early last week. Our donation box is located in Exploratory Hall, Office Suite 3450. It's on the third floor, and is accessible from 9am-5pm.” A statement from the Turkish embassy says: “Most urgent needs include disaster tents, blankets, sleeping bags, floor mats for disaster tents, bed chairs, heaters (220v compatible with the converter), portable restrooms and lavatories, and shipping containers” and requests new (not used) items. The Geology Club is requesting donations of the smaller items on the Embassy list.
