Giving to our Vision - A Vibrant Future for All, Informed by Science
As I look to the future and leaving Mason’s College of Science, I have said many times that this new opportunity is bittersweet. It has truly been a tremendous privilege and honor to serve as dean of this extraordinary college. Our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends are among the most talented, resilient, caring, supportive, and hard-working individuals I know. Mason Science will most certainly continue to thrive due to your commitment and “can do” attitude.
As an expression of my gratitude, and in recognition of Mason Vision Day on April 4, I have decided to match donations up to $10,000 to the College of Science Vision Fund. This fund provides flexible and timely support for a wide range of needs across the college: emergency student needs, outreach activities, and research activities are among the initiatives that the College Vision Fund makes possible.
As an incentive, the College of Science department or unit with the highest percentage of participation (that is, number of donors) will receive an award of $3k in foundation funds for their unit.
Mason Science Patriots, we need your support! Make your donation no later than Thursday, April 4 to qualify for the match. Donations received between now and April 4 will be counted towards your department/unit’s participation.
You already know that Mason is a different kind of university, one that enables our students to overcome obstacles and launch themselves into extraordinary futures. And we need your help. Together, we can ensure Mason and our College of Science remain Virginia's most inclusive, diverse, and innovative place to explore science learning and research.
To reiterate, the department or unit with the highest percentage of Mason Vision Day participation will receive $3K in foundation funds. This is based on the number of donors contributing vs total dollars in giving so each group has a fair chance to win. Let's have fun with this!
