Mason Science highlights CDS Assistant Professor for Women's History Month

Sharmin Abdullah Social Highlight

Sharmin Abdullah, Assistant Professor, Department of Computational and Data Sciences, was one of the College of Science's #WomensHistoryMonth highlights. She earned her PhD in 2021 from The University of Texas at El Paso. Her research focus for her PhD was on atomistic simulations of material characteristics, specifically analyzing the microstructures of photovoltaic thin film materials via molecular dynamics to improve the solar cell efficiency and she plans to continue her research in this area. Inspired by her family, Abdullah is delighted to be a part of the fast-growing CDS Department here at George Mason University. *

“The diversity within Mason Science really attracted me. I was amazed by the presence of the diverse group of students, teachers, scholars, and staff from a multitude of backgrounds, working in a variety of disciplines, each with unique and valuable insights and experiences to share,” said Abdullah.
