The Department of Mathematical Sciences proudly supported the organization of the Mathematics Olympiad for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS), held at Metaphor International School on Saturday, April 12. The event brought together 45 students from nine different schools for a day of problem-solving and discovery.

As part of the competition, the Mason Experimental Geometry Lab hosted an interactive activity titled “Irrational Numbers,” designed to help 4th–6th graders explore the difference between rational and irrational numbers through hands-on geometric representations.

It was a lively and inspiring day filled with curiosity, creativity, and a shared love for mathematics!
