Math Summer Enrichment Camp for 6th-9th Graders

Starting in Summer 2023, continuing the legacy of our late colleague Prof. Jerry Lin, the Mathematics department plans to offer exciting summer enrichment opportunities for K-12 students. The Mason Math Odyssey day camp (July 17-21, 2023) will immerse rising 6-9 graders in an exciting mathematical journey through space and time. Math enthusiasts will be exposed to some of the fundamental concepts from the areas of geometry, topology, number theory, probability and algebra as well as modeling, working alongside their peers and experienced mathematicians. Our hands-on approach to teaching advanced level concepts through teamwork and experimentation will allow the campers to gain understanding of Olympiad-level mathematics while honing their collaboration/communication skills in a fun learner-centered environment.
