New CDS Faculty at Mason Korea
The department of Computational and Data Sciences would like to welcome our new faculty member, Dr. Sohyun Park, Assistant Professor at Mason Korea. Dr. Park’s research lies at the intersection of environmental science, economic geography, and spatial data analytics.
Her primary research project this year is understanding land dynamics in accordance with human migration in rural America. She is currently analyzing the NLCD (National Land Cover Database) to develop measures for detecting land cover changes.
“I have been exposed to multilingual environments throughout my education,” said Dr. Park. “I would love to share my experiences with students and support them as they pursue new opportunities both in South Korea and the US. I am looking forward to working with great colleagues and students in Songdo and Fairfax!”
