CSI 639-001 - Ethics in Scientific Research

Dr. John Lyver Tuesdays 7:20-10:00 p.m. - Planetary Hall, Room 126

Dr. John Lyver will be teaching CSI 639-Ethics in Scientific Research on Tuesdays from 7:20-10 p.m.  This course will be taught face to face in Planetary Hall, Room 126.  Here is the course’s catalog description: “Reviews purpose of scientific research and principles for evaluating ethical issues. Teaches skills for survival through training in moral reasoning and responsible conduct. Discusses ethical issues and applying critical-thinking skills to design, execution, and analysis of experiments. Issues include using animals, humans in research; ethical standards in computer community; research fraud; and currently accepted guidelines for data ownership, manuscript preparation, and conduct of those in authority.”
