Registration is now open for the Initiative for a Sustainable Earth (ISE) workshop on April 3, 1-4 PM. Space is limited, so please register at your earliest convenience. Please register at:

During the workshop, we especially want to receive your input and thoughts on how this George Mason University Initiative could support and facilitate your sustainability-related work. We would also like to share our ideas for the ISE with you, and highlight ongoing sustainability-related efforts across the university.

The Initiative is meant to be an umbrella entity across George Mason University – incorporating, collaborating with, and supporting all sustainability, conservation, and environment-related research, education and other activities at Mason; it does not aim to duplicate efforts, but to bring them together. In that manner, Mason partners can more easily navigate the sustainability-related work at our university, and Mason colleagues interested in collaboration can more easily find each other. Since sustainability issues are in essence interdisciplinary (or even transdisciplinary) in character, the ISE will enable Mason to contribute (even more) significantly to sustainable development. By bringing together and strengthening the sustainability community at Mason, the ISE will also provide opportunities for new and additional funding opportunities for both research and education.
