Eligible: Instructional/Research Faculty

This award honors early-career faculty with fewer than five years of service in the College of Science who demonstrate exceptional promise and achievement in research or teaching. Recipients show creativity, initiative, and a clear trajectory toward making a lasting impact in their field and within the College. Their accomplishments reflect emerging excellence and strong potential for continued professional achievement.

Eligible: Instructional/Research Faculty

This award celebrates faculty who demonstrate creativity, innovation, and excellence in teaching. Honorees develop engaging learning experiences, approaches, or practices that inspire curiosity, deepen understanding, and foster student success. Their work reflects a commitment to advancing teaching and learning and preparing the next generation of scientists and leaders.

Eligible: Instructional/Research and Administrative/Professional Faculty

This award recognizes faculty whose research or scholarship has made a significant contribution to science and society. Honorees demonstrate excellence in discovery, scholarship, or innovation, with a clear impact extending beyond the College. Their work reflects academic rigor, meaningful influence, and real-world relevance.

Eligible: All Employees

This award recognizes employees who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to the growth and success of others through mentorship. Recipients serve as trusted guides and role models, helping colleagues develop skills, navigate new roles and responsibilities, build confidence, and achieve professional success through effective mentoring, coaching, and support.

Their impact may also extend beyond individual mentoring relationships through service that strengthens a culture of learning, collaboration, and professional development across the College or University. Through their investment in others, recipients exemplify leadership, generosity, and a commitment to developing and supporting the College of Science community.

Eligible: Classified Staff and Administrative/Professional Faculty

This award recognizes a Classified Staff or Administrative/Professional Faculty member whose exceptional performance and contributions strengthen the effectiveness and success of the College of Science. Recipients demonstrate excellence in their responsibilities while going beyond expectations to improve operations, solve complex challenges, strengthen collaboration, or advance College priorities.

Honorees exemplify initiative, professionalism, reliability, and a strong commitment to the College’s mission. Nominations should highlight specific contributions that demonstrate measurable or meaningful impact on the effectiveness, operations, or organizational success of Mason Science.

Eligible: All Employees

This award recognizes employees whose exceptional support goes beyond the typical expectations of their role and has a demonstrable impact on the success, growth, and impact of research within the College of Science. Recipients make significant contributions to the research enterprise through activities such as research administration, technical or laboratory support, project coordination, compliance, data or operational support, or other efforts that strengthen the ability of researchers and research teams to succeed.

Honorees demonstrate initiative, expertise, and dedication in advancing research activities, improving research operations, overcoming challenges, or expanding research capacity. Through their contributions, they help elevate the quality, efficiency, visibility, and impact of Mason Science research.

Eligible: Classified Staff and Administrative/Professional Faculty

This award recognizes a Classified Staff or Administrative/Professional Faculty member who demonstrates an exceptional commitment to student success and the student experience within the College of Science. Recipients go beyond the expectations of their role to provide responsive, innovative, and student-centered support that helps students navigate challenges, access resources, achieve their goals, and feel connected to the Mason Science community.

Honorees demonstrate initiative, collaboration, and a sustained commitment to improving services, programs, processes, or experiences that directly benefit students. Nominations should highlight specific examples of the nominee’s positive and meaningful impact on student success, engagement, or well-being.
