If you want to be part of a team that puts patients first and relentlessly focuses on patient-centric innovation, we would love to hear from you.As an AI Automation Intern, you will help design and prototype an AI-powered copilot for patient support specialists. This tool will streamline key tasks by using LLMs, retrieval, and rules-based logic, always keeping human agents in the loop and operating within strict safety, compliance, and non-promotional boundaries.This role is ideal for a Master’s student in computer science, data science, or AI/ML who is comfortable building end-to-end prototypes and excited about bringing modern AI techniques into high-impact, real-world patient support workflows. This opportunity is located at the NovartisEast Hanover site andwill not have the abilityto be located remotely. Key Responsibilities:Workflow discovery & requirements gatheringBuild research/prototype AI copilot with specified goalsLeverage LLMs/Generative AI for performanceBuild Guardrails, safety, and evaluationDocumentation & handoverWhat you’ll bring to the role:Minimum requirements:Currently enrolled in an accredited degree-granting college or university pursuing a Master’s degree.Must be a graduate sophomore or junior (expected to graduate by 2028). Eligibility criteria include students with authorization to work in the U.S. without requirement for employer sponsorship / visa / OPT Preferred Competencies/Experiences:Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, common data/ML librariesHands-on experience with LLMs/Generative AI, Prompt engineering, relatedExperience in RAG/vector databases, LLM orchestration frameworks, agentic workflowsHighly motivated, Leadership abilityInterest in healthcare, pharma, or digital patient servicesExcellent communication/coordination/interpersonal skills. Strong Power Point Skills.
