This position will report directly to the Mine Planning Engineering Manager. As a Mine Planning Geologist Intern, you will work closely with the Mine Planning and Mineral Operations team gaining valuable experience through hands-on projects in our mines and mineral separation plants, located in Georgia and Florida. You will have exposure to real-time mine planning assignments alongside other mining professionals to apply what you’ve learned in the classroom. Effective interns will have the ability to communicate with impact, have strong self-awareness, and be naturally inquisitive. Location: Starke, FL, Maxville, FL or Jesup, GA, Nahunta, GAHours: Regular full-time schedule of 40 hours per weekTerm: 3 month assignment, June through August 2026, conforming to school schedule The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:Rotating through functional mineral departments to gain exposure to all aspects of heavy mineral sand mining and processing.Working with experienced mining professionals on improvement projects by developing alternative solutions, carrying out trials, and making informed recommendations.Advancing Chemours’ safety culture.Contributing to team meetings, participating in team projects, and communicating recommendations to key stakeholders. The following is required for this role:Enrollment at an accredited college or university and pursuing an undergraduate degree Geology, or comparable fieldsBasic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power PointStrong interest in industrial mineral extraction and processingValid Driver's License The following is preferred for this role:3.0 GPA or aboveCapability of working with ArcGIS and/or CAD softwareFamiliarity with modeling, coding, and/or statistical analysisParticipation in relevant curricular and extracurricular activities, organizations, and projects beyond the classroom
