Many students who pursue natural or social science majors find their first employment in Environmental Consulting. To be competitive in this field, applicants require an interdisciplinary background (e.g., communication, policy, management) and professional consulting experience. To better prepare Mason’s graduates for this career field and to streamline the transition from the classroom into the workforce, the Department of Environmental Science and Policy offers a minor in Environmental Consulting. This minor includes classes in communication, technical writing, applied environmental science, environmental law, and business management and is finalized with a capstone course and an internship with local consulting companies.
