About
Post-doctorate Fellow with extensive hands-on experience conducting bioanalytical chemistry research, mentoring students, publishing, and submitting grants. Professionally trained to handle the most sophisticated cutting-edge mass spectrometers and ICP-MS/ICP-OES. A technically proficient research scientist with some experience in cannabinoids, Volatile Organic Compounds, lipidomics, and proteomics. Experienced in UPLC, gas chromatography, and orbitrap fusion mass spectrometry with verifiable knowledge in targeted and untargeted platforms, and complex chromatography, for analysis of drug compounds.
Current Research
Looking at antimicrobial peptides in secretions from amphibians like the Xenopus and hellbenders using the orbitrap fusion mass spectrometer employing the use of DDA and DIA analysis techniques. I am part of the Bishop research group On a CINA grant research with Dr. Eckenrode using ICP-MS to analyze heavy and trace metals in fentanyl for source attribution to help to stop criminal drug networks.
Teaching Focus
Help with the teaching of 305 labs in the Forensic science program and also supporting the main professor in the 304 class in the forensic program as well.
