Apr 13, 2026, 9:00 AM - Apr 14, 2026, 5:00 PM
Mason Square Campus
The 19th Annual STAR-TIDES Capabilities Demonstration is scheduled for April 13-14 at the Mason Square Campus in Arlington, VA.
Under the theme of Reimagining Resilience: Empowering Local Communities in a Time of Uncertain Federal Support, this year's event will focus on the challenges faced by state and local actors in preparing, withstanding, recovering, and adapting in the face o increasingly severe natural disasters as federal funds and support are being cut or redirected.
The demo will be held April 13-14 at the Mason Square Campus. This event is a great opportunity for students to learn about and engage with people in the fields of resilience, climate action, emergency response, and other related areas. Our keynote speakers include senior people in the areas of resilience, climate policy, infrastructure protection, and disaster relief and recovery. The panels will include discussions with individuals and organizations grappling with building community resilience in today’s world.
The TIDES follow-on event will take place April 14-15 at the Pentagon.
For students working on a project or research activity focused on a STAR-TIDES relevant topic (e.g., climate science, climate adaptation, community resilience, emergency management, climate policy, humanitarian relief) please stay tuned for more details on the poster contest to be held on April 14. The deadline for entry is Friday April 3.
