2025 Winter Commencement

University Commencement is the official, university-wide graduation ceremony at George Mason University. This event includes:

• degree conferral by the University President;
• remarks from both the invited Commencement guest speaker and the selected Class of 2025 student speaker;
• and music provided by the George Mason University Wind Symphony.
• Only doctoral graduates are individually recognized and photographed as they cross the stage.
• Master's and bachelor's graduates are not individually recognized and do not cross the stage at this ceremony.

All winter bachelor's and master's graduates, as well as summer and winter doctoral candidates, are invited to attend. Doctoral candidates will be individually recognized and hooded during the Commencement ceremony.

Tickets will be required for both Commencement and Degree Celebration ceremonies. You must apply to graduate to be eligible to claim your tickets or receive graduation communications.
