Title: Inequalities for the Bergman Projection: A Story Linking Harmonic Analysis, Complex Analysis, and Operator Theory II
Abstract: We will begin by finishing the proof of the L^p regularity theorem for the Bergman projection that we started last time. Next, we will discuss the motivation and background for weighted norm inequalities from harmonic analysis. We will then outline the characterization, due to Bekolle and Bonami, of weighted L^p norm inequalities for the Bergman projection. Time permitting, we will turn to Toeplitz operators on the Bergman space, which can be thought of as compressions to the "analytic part" of multiplication operators via the Bergman projection. A beautiful operator-theoretic result of Axler and Zheng characterizes the compact Toeplitz operators on the Bergman space, and we will mention some potential generalizations and extensions of this theorem.
