Title: Isometries of Banach Spaces of Analytic Functions
Abstract: An isometry of a metric space is a self map which preserves distances between points. The identification of the isometries on a space, known as the “Isometry Problem” has its origins with a 1932 paper by Banach himself. In this talk, we will be describing the historical developments that led to the study of the weighted composition operators on many Banach spaces of analytic functions on the open unit disk in the complex plane. We will then discuss some recent developments based on an axiomatic approach.
