Title: Randomness, geometry and dynamics
Abstract : A classical problem in number theory is to investigate the “randomness” of sequences of real numbers. For example, how random are rational numbers? Picking up from this number theory perspective, we will ask similar questions for sequences coming from slopes of geodesics on surfaces, and exhibit exotic number theoretic behavior using dynamics.
