Title:  Renormalization and Scaling in dynamical systems and analytic number theory

Abstract:  We will discuss two applications of ideas of dynamical systems to two results in analytic number theory (bounds on Fourier coefficients of cuspforms and on Weyl sums). Our approach does not go beyond known results but provides a new unified approach based on ideas from dynamical systems to different questions in number theory. Joint work with L. Flaminion and J. Tanis.
