Research Colloquium on Computational Social Science/Data Science

On Friday, April 24, we will continue our review of SARS-CoV-2 transmission and COVID-19 disease models, focusing on policy-relevant models. The following two prominent researchers will present their studies on COVID-19:
- 3-3:30 - Professor Madhav Marathe, University of Virginia’s Biocomplexity Institute will discuss his research group’s model from 3:00-3:30, “Computational Epidemiology: Supporting COVID-19.”*
Madhav Marathe is an endowed Distinguished Professor in Biocomplexity, Director of the Network Systems Science and Advanced Computing (NSSAC) Division, Biocomplexity Institute and Initiative, and a tenured Professor of Computer Science at the University of Virginia. Dr. Marathe is a passionate advocate and practitioner of transdisciplinary team science.
- 3:30-4:00 Professor Eva Lee, Georgia Tech will discuss her work: “Strategies for COVID-19 Containment: A Biological-Bheavioral-Logistics Computation Decision Framework.” *
Eva K Lee is a Professor in the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech, and Director of the Center for Operations Research in Medicine and HealthCare. She is also a Senior Research Professor at the Atlanta VA Medical Center.
