Title: Geodesic flow on CAT(-1) spaces
Abstract: CAT(-1) spaces form a natural metric generalization of Riemannian manifolds with strictly negative curvature. In this talk I'll show how to construct a symbolic coding for the geodesic flow on a compact CAT(-1) space, proving that such a flow is Bernoulli. We'll skip the technical details and focus on the main idea -- why should the CAT(-1) condition allow construction of such a coding? If time permits, I'll say something about what this coding tells us about the dynamics of the geodesic flow.
