University Life Gives Back – Summer Day of Service

University Life’s annual Gives Back – Summer Day of Service will take place on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This event provides University Life staff and colleagues with the opportunity to make a positive impact through volunteerism, community engagement, and service.

Participants can choose from a wide variety of service projects taking place throughout the morning. Following the completion of all projects, attendees are invited to join the UL Gives Back Social from 1 to 2:30 p.m. to connect with colleagues and celebrate the day’s service efforts.

Staff are required to RSVP for a service project so that service and outreach activities can be appropriately tracked and coordinated.

Learning Outcomes:

Through participation in the 2026 University Life Summer Day of Service, staff will:

• Engage with University Life and George Mason University’s core values by giving back to the campus and surrounding community through service, volunteerism, and civic engagement.
• Recognize the value of individual contributions to collective efforts that advance positive social change.
• Foster a holistic approach to service by exploring the importance of community outreach, education, volunteerism, and the impact of intersectional issues.
