GMU Graduate Dr. Cigole Thomas Secures Tenure-Track Position at Bates College

Dr. Cigole Thomas earned her Ph.D. in Algebraic Geometry from George Mason University in 2022 under the supervision of Professor Sean Lawton. She subsequently held a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Colorado State University (2022-2025), where she worked with Professor Rachel Pries. Dr. Thomas's published research lies at the intersection of algebraic geometry, number theory, and dynamics, and she has made numerous scholarly contributions to mathematics education. In Fall 2025, she joined Bates College in Maine as a tenure-track assistant professor, where she now resides with her husband and daughter.
