Every four years, the International Congress of Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM) brings together mathematical scientists, researchers, and industry members from across the globe to discuss and exchange state-of-the-art ideas on research and education in Industrial and Applied Mathematics.

ICIAM 2023 was held at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan from August 20 to 25, 2023 bringing more than 5,000 speakers from 90+ countries. The Department of Mathematical Sciences at George Mason University was well represented— our faculty and students gave six talks, hosted two mini-symposia, presented two posters, and Padmanabhan Seshaiyer delivered one public lecture.

All these Mason Science faculty are also members of the US Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.
