Registration
Reading and research on a specific topic in climate dynamics under the direction of a faculty member.
Prerequisite(s): Admission into climate dynamics doctoral program and permission of instructor.
Notes: May be repeated as necessary.
Registration Procedure
To set up a reading course, students should ask the instructor directing the reading course to write a syllabus for the reading course. The syllabus should outline when the student and faculty will meet, what papers will be read and in some cases what data will be examined. The syllabus should be emailed by the instructor to the Climate Dynamics graduate coordinator (Barry A Klinger - bklinger@gmu.edu) and Associate Chair and Course Scheduler (Cristiana Stan - cstan@gmu.edu) with the student CCed. The Course Scheduler will send a confirmation email once the course has been scheduled and available in Patriot Web. If a confirmation email is not received, it is the student’s responsibility to follow up with the Course Scheduler. For a smooth term registration this email should be sent at least one week before the start of term.
