Attn faculty: Strengthen Learning in Your STEM Courses
May 19, 2026, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Innovation Hall Rm 427
Join fellow science faculty for the STEM Education Retreat, a focused, in‑person workshop STEM for All: Applying Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in Your Courses. This session is designed for STEM instructors who want to improve student learning and engagement using a framework which anticipates learner variability so you can design more effective, scalable STEM courses from the start!
In addition to strengthening teaching practice, this retreat may be especially timely as institutions prepare for compliance with updated Title II federal accessibility regulations. Universal Design for Learning offers a proactive approach to course design that supports accessibility and inclusion across lab, quantitative, and problem‑based settings, reducing the need for retroactive accommodations.
Faculty will work through examples, reflect on an existing course, and leave with clear, actionable adjustments grounded in the UDL framework.
