Virtual Microbiology Journal Club with an emphasis on COVID-19 (MJC_COVID-19)
Dec 4, 2020, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
As part of the effort to further strengthen our microbiology program and in consultation with several faculty, I have initiated a virtual Microbiology Journal Club with an emphasis on COVID-19 (MJC_COVID-19). Given the immense worldwide effect of the pandemic, it is also a timely endeavor. It will be held once a month during the fall and spring semesters. The meetings will be on Fridays at 11 am. They are fully open to the Mason community, and I hope that everyone can join in and participate (please see below for how to join by Zoom).
While the emphasis will be on COVID-19, presenters are certainly welcome to discuss published articles on other topics as well if they wish to do so. Faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, and PhD students who have advanced to candidacy, are welcome to present. Please let me know if either you wish to present yourself or have a postdoctoral fellow or eligible PhD student in your lab who wishes to present, and I will include them in the schedule.
The presenters for the remainder of this semester are the following:
1. Professor Fatah Kashanchi (SSB); Friday, November 6, 2020 (11 am)
2. Professor Emanuel F. Petricoin (SSB); Friday, December 4,2020 (11 am)
Please see the invitation below for how to join the meetings by Zoom:
