The Math Tutoring Center will be offering online tutoring services to students currently enrolled in undergraduate Math courses at GMU.
To access the Math Tutoring Center online you need to login to Blackboard, click on the Organizations tab, locate the Math Tutoring Center Organization and self-enroll in this organization.
Students should post their questions in Piazza in the folder corresponding to their course. Please state your questions clearly, consider uploading a pdf file that contains your questions. Tutors will be answering your questions as soon as possible, expect to receive an answer by the following business day, although there might be delays. If you received answers for your questions and need further clarifications, you can join an active Blackboard Collaborate session.
The Blackboard Collaborate sessions will be running during the weekdays.
There are many ways to approach a problem and find a solution. We have tutors that can help.
Math Tutor Application
If you would like to be considered for a tutor position at the Math Tutoring Center, please click on the Application Form below.
Please note that hiring is usually done in the summer (with positions starting in the fall) to ensure we have a full tutoring staff to start the academic year. Otherwise, applications are reviewed as positions become available.
We offer competitive pay: $12.00 per hour for senior tutors and $11.00 for junior tutors.

Do I need an appointment?
Free tutoring is available on a walk-in basis for all George Mason students enrolled in Mason Math courses.
Which courses do you help with?
During every shift there will be assigned junior tutors and senior tutors. Junior tutors can help with courses up to Math 213. Senior tutors are able to tutor all Math courses up to Math 290 and sometimes higher level undergraduate courses.
Does the Tutoring Center offer one-on-one tutoring?
We cannot guarantee that you will receive one-on-one tutoring. The volume of students who come in for help will determine if tutoring happens in a small group, or if you can work with a tutor individually.
What should I bring to the Center for tutoring?
Tutors may need to refer to texts and notes, so you should bring your textbook, and class notes.
