Math Tutoring Center Guidelines
- The tutors CANNOT simply answer your homework problems for you. The tutors will guide you through the problem by suggesting things to try or asking you questions.
- Do not give a list of homework problems for tutors to solve for you. Not following this guideline might constitute in some cases a violation of the Honor Code.
- Please clearly state the problem(s) you are trying to solve and provide as much context as possible, so the tutors can fully understand your questions and provide the most help to you.
Fall 2024 Hours - Johnson Center, Room 344
No Appointments needed, walk-ins welcome
While we welcome students from any classes, our priority is students in 100-200 level math courses. It is left to the tutors to determine if they can assist someone in another class.

Math Tutor Center FAQ
If you have any questions not mentioned below, please contact Brent Gorbutt.
Which courses do you help with?
During every shift there will be assigned junior tutors and senior tutors. Junior tutors can help with courses up to Math 213. Senior tutors are able to tutor all Math courses up to Math 300 and sometimes higher level undergraduate courses.
Does the Tutoring Center offer one-on-one tutoring?
We cannot guarantee that you will receive one-on-one tutoring. The volume of students who come in for help will determine if tutoring happens in a small group, or if you can work with a tutor individually.
What material should I have with me?
Tutors may need to refer to texts and notes, so you should have your textbook, and class notes.
