Reappointment, Multi-Year Contracts & Promotion (RMP)
In accordance with section 2.3.3 of the Faculty Handbook, Term Faculty may be considered for a promotion with a new multi-year appointment, normally in the Term Faculty member’s sixth year. The documents and deadlines below provide information regarding the submission of complete materials to ensure timely decisions. Any questions or concerns should be sent to Kimberly Ford in the Office of the Provost.
By November 1, 2021: The completed casebook for each candidate based on the attached template should be submitted electronically to your designated unit MESA folder.
By December 15, 2021: The Provost will act on the recommendation for promotion and new multi-year appointment. The Term Faculty member will be notified in writing of the decision.
Compliance, Diversity and Ethics - Term Faculty who are submitting a dossier for promotion must provide a valid certificate of completion to be included in the promotion dossier prior to the academic unit submission of materials to the Office of the Provost. This certification should be for the following trainings:
- Title IX Overview and Sexual Harassment Prevention
- Ethics (online: Tools for an Ethnical Workplace)
- Equal Opportunity: A Fair Shake (online: Intersections: Preventing Discrimination and Harassment)
All training can be either in-person or online. The Compliance, Diversity, and Ethics training can be accessed through MasonLEAPS. Questions concerning these trainings should be addressed to the Office of Compliance, Diversity and Ethics.
