Suggested packing list
Packing list for FOCUS Academy
Linen (sheets, towels, pillows, blankets) will not be provided during your stay. Please remember to bring linen and toiletries for the week. The beds are XL twins (82”). You cannot control the temperature in your room and rooms tend to be a bit cold. You may want to bring an extra blanket or comforter.
Other suggested items you may want to bring:
- Shower supplies
- Paper towels
- Hand soap
- Hair dryer
- Sewing kit
- Computer or other personal electronic devices
- Alarm
- Laundry detergent if you anticipate needing to do laundry
- Chargers for electronic devices
- Drinks, snacks and other non-perishable food items
- Plates/cups/eating utensils
- Iron/ironing board
- Hangers
- Personal documents (e.g. identification)
- Umbrella
- Trash bags
- First aid kit (we will also have first aid kits)
- Backpack (we will give them a sportpack)
- Money to purchase things on campus (additional food/snacks if desired, vending machines, bookstore, etc.)
The FOCUS Academy participants stay in suite-style upperclassmen dorms which have two rooms connected by a bathroom. Two participants reside in each room. The FOCUS Academy counselors and a dorm leader (graduate student or senior leadership) stay in single rooms on the same floor as the participants.
