STEM Summer Experience
The College of Science offers two summer camp opportunities for incoming freshmen: Math Boot Camp and STEM Bridge Experience.
Learning Community
The College of Science Learning Community (LC) is co-hort of likeminded individuals studying science at Mason. They participate in events and programming focused on scientific inquiry, cutting-edge research, and global problem solving.
Learning Assistant Program
A Learning Assistant (LA) is a paid undergraduate position in the College of Science. For a semester, students will participate in undergraduate instruction, course innovation, and peer-to-peer tutoring and mentoring. Students and faculty apply to the program the semester before participating.
Aspiring Scientists Summer Internship Program (ASSIP)
Gain original, cutting-edge research experience. The nationally known Aspiring Scientists Summer Internship Program (ASSIP) provides transformative research opportunities for high school and undergraduate students. Selected participants work one-on-one with faculty researchers at George Mason University and collaborating institutions using state-of-the-art technology across many disciplines.
Community of STEM Transfer Researchers (C-STR)
C-STR is a two-semester program that begins with a Research Foundations Program in semester one, and a Research Readiness Program in semester two. New cohorts are launched in Fall and Spring Semesters. Join C-STR to receive:
- Exclusive access to C-STR seminars and research-intensive course work to develop your research skills.
- Support with finding and applying for undergraduate research and internship positions, fellowships, and more!
- Faculty and peer mentoring to support career planning, including graduate/health professions admissions.
