Strategic Plan
The College of Science begins to implement its five-year strategic plan
Developed through collaboration within departments and across the College, the plan defines our vision, mission, and values, and sets a clear direction for the future. In partnership with Attain Partners, a local consulting firm that also supported Mason’s university-wide planning effort, we gathered input from faculty, staff, students, alumni, and other stakeholders to inform the priorities and initiatives that will guide our work in the years ahead.
Focus Areas for FY 2026
Enhance Student Learning
Build signature and relevant academic and research programs that attract and retain students, align with Mason Science strengths, and meet national and global needs.
Focus and Expand Research
Evaluate and align strengths with areas of focus for Mason Science research.
Grow Funding Resources and Partnerships
Establish and/or expand funding and partnerships to invest in tools and resources needed to support research and educational priorities e.g., undergraduate and graduate support packages.
Improve Working Culture
Improve internal communication and collaboration to ensure a culture of transparency, respect, belonging, and open dialogue.
Optimize Administrative Workloads
Address workload challenges to promote well-being and reduce burnout for faculty and staff.
