Substitutions and Waivers
This form (linked below) allows students to either substitute or waive a degree requirement. Students earning either a major or minor in the College of Science must get the approval from their major or minor coordinator as well as the College of Science’s Office of Academic and Student Affairs. This request will always be reviewed by the academic unit in which the program of the substitution or waiver is being sought.
For example, a biology major who is minoring in business and seeking a waiver for a requirement in the business minor will need to visit the School of Business.
Once the appropriate signatures have been obtained, the substitution and waiver form will be sent to the College of Science’s Office of Academic and Student Affairs in Exploratory Hall Room 1450 for review.
Unless the request is denied, students are typically not notified about the decision of the substitution/waiver form. It is requested that the student monitor their degree evaluation on PatriotWeb for the status of the substitution or waiver.
