College of Science celebrates 75 educators during this year’s Thank-A-Teacher program

The ninth annual Thank-A-Teacher program, led by the Stearns Center for Teaching and Learning at George Mason University, gives students an opportunity to express their appreciation for the faculty and student teaching assistants  who have inspired, guided, and supported them throughout their academic journey. We recognize the following members of our faculty and graduate student teaching assistants who received thank-you notes acknowledging their commitment to impactful science education and enhancing the student experience at George Mason.

If you were curious...the College of Science accounted for 19% of the thank-you notes received across the university, highlighting the significant impact our science educators  have on students' lives and learning experiences.

Here are a few sample submissions to describe ways they make a difference.

“I just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed Bio 213 largely due to how relaxed and easy-going you are. You made the material digestible and you provided adequate resources for us to succeed. So, thank you. I wish you all the best.”

“Thank you for everything you do Professor Knight! You are so wonderful and inspiring, for girls and women of color and I'm glad I got to meet you. You navigate this world with such a bright light and such passion for what you do which radiates onto others. I hope you know I appreciate you so much and you are literally Superwoman in my eyes. Thank you again for everything and Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!”

“Thank you for taking your time and making sure that we understand the materials that you are teaching! Thank you for showing that you care about your students. Thank you for always coming to lecture with a smile! Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for all of your hard work!”

THANK YOU to faculty and student educators in our college receiving Thank A Teacher recognition feedback submissions.
